Whistling birds make waipara camp more alive. Finally trees were silent, and the rope was ready to go. Breathing deeply doesn't help in this situation. Putting make legs in a flexible position to make me rise higher. (woosh) leaving the lowest branch. Eventually reaching the top.

The ground sits with the air as the rope contacted with the pine-stones. (Click) the harnest unbuckled. Trotting over to the distressed log to sit in peace, after that amazing experience. Looking into Tim's bag to find my watch, and see the time. 1:25 nearly time to go back, to school making no noise as I place my Watch back in Tim's bag and continue to watch the people from my group climb.

Student Reflection: In my writing one of my goals is Use different sentence types - simple, compound and some complex (L3) I did show this goal here because I had at least two of every sentence type in my goal. In my writing one of my goals is Use different sentence beginnings and lengths (L3) I did not show this goal here because Most of my sentences lengths were the same and It was hard to use different sentence beginnings because it was a show not tell. My next step is to go to more workshops that have my goals in it and focus more on my lengths and beginnings in my show don't tells. Teacher Comment: Jonty, I like the way you have used language to describe your setting.  I am able to create a picture in my mind as I read it.  Your next step is to focus on your surface features when you re-read / edit. - Mrs Hunter

While learning new routines, we have been consolidating our
knowledge of 1, 10, 100 and 1000 more or less.  

3,842 + 100 = 3,942 √

9,387 - 1000 = 10,387 check

8,237 + 10 = 8,247 √

2,473 - 100 = 2,573 check

3,902 + 1 = 3,903 √

3,492 + 1000 = 4,492√

• Use place value partitioning to subtract 135-75=  135-70= 65-5=60
• Use reversibility to change a problem around, e.g. 403 - ? = 97, 97 + ? = 403

Answer the following questions, SHOW YOUR WORKING!

1. How many groups of 10 are in 175? There are 17 tens in 175. I counted in tens to
175 and this is what I got: 10 20 30 40 50 60 70 80 90 100 110 120 130 140 150 160 170 and then
counted each and got 17 with 5 left over.

2. How many groups of 100 are there in 1245? 12 hundreds are in 1245 because I learned in the
group that we take of the 5 and thats the answer.

3. How many groups of 15 are in 390? Answer is 24, I worked this out by counting in 15s to 390:

                                         160- 30=130. 130+5=135. 135-7=128.

600-293=307. 307+15=322.

This term we have been learning how to play some new rhythms on our bucket drums.

We learnt to play the down beat where we play on each beat, it looks like this:

Then we learnt to play the front beat where we only play on beats 1 and 3, it looks like this:

We also learnt to play the backbeat where we only play on beats 2 and 4, it looks like this:

After we had practiced the beats we learnt to play along with some songs.
Bucket Drumming To Happier 

What do you think is the most important thing to do so that you stay in time when you
are playing on the bucket drums? To stop if you're out of time and join in when your ready.

Which song do you think would be good to play the bucket drums to and why? Taki Taki
because it not english and we need to have varieties of languages.

What could you do to improve your bucket drumming in the future?
To be more focussed and using both sticks at same time.

What are the three things that Constable Ken Taught about where we can ride our bikes? (think - place

1. Left side of the road.

3. on top of a layer of Grass.

Name three important things Constable Ken taught us about how to ride our bikes? (think - eyes and head)

1. Wear a helmet to protect your brain.

2. When you stop riding stand on the right side of your bike.

3. Don't put your left gears on the road because its made for mountains not concrete/road material.

Describe the three bike signals that Constable Ken taught us.

1. Left hand out if your turning left.

2. Right hand out if your turning right.

3. The side of the road your riding hand up if your stopping.

What did you enjoy the most about your Cycle Safe lesson? Why?

I enjoyed doing the hand signals the best because it was risky and fun to turn hard corners like that.
